XX Ritual

This paper sets forth a series of four ceremonies for people suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. In this case the ceremonies are for Vietnam veterans and their families and friends. The ceremonies are as follows:(I) The Opening Ceremony: Departure; (2) Family Night Ceremony: Forgiveness; (3) The Crossing Over Ceremony: Return; and (4) Ceremony for The Dead: Survival. The authors include a description and script of each ceremony and a discussion about its purpose and common responses of participants.
